How do you upload a brain CT onto our servers so they can be read by our META-Medicine specialists

If you have a brain CT and want it to be read by Richard, please contact us and arrange payment before you upload your CT.

This explains how to upload a CT scan onto our server. (A server is an external computer which we have access to)

It is simple but we suggest you get someone to help you who knows computers, if you are not that familiar with how they work, if you are forgive us for being so literal.

First have the CD in your computer drive and make sure the automatic programme that automatically runs when you put the CD in, this shows the CT pictures. You may need to allow it to run and then ‘Exit’ the programme.

Open Internet explorer and Log onto www.box.net and put in the Username and Password. There is a place to do this and it is situated on the top right hand corner of the page.

Username     ctscan

Password     metamedicine

Then you will see a page full of yellow folders and names of other peoples CT scans.

You need to create a new folder. Up on the right hand corner there is a small box which says ‘New Folder’ click on that and then a small box opens which says Create Folder. Type in your name and hit Okay. This will create a Folder with your name on it. The screen will update and there will be the list of folders one with your name on it. Click on your folder. A new screen will appear and it will say There are no files in “your name”.

You need to upload your files, into your named folder. For this you need to hit the button UPLOAD. This again is on the top right hand corner. (or on that page it says ‘Upload new files’, with a little green arrow next to it, both Uploads do the same thing.) This will take you to a separate smaller box window. It will say Upload files.

This new box says ‘CT Scans’ and below it says ‘Method’: There it will say Add files or drag and drop

Hit drag and drop

A new orange window will load saying ‘Java Applet’ is loading. Here you may be asked to upload a new programme called Java(TM) Standard Edition. This is a special programme that allows you to transfer files in the normal way you would with a Windows programme. Please upload this programme and follow the on screen instructions. It takes 10 minutes at the most.

Once this has completed you will get a page that looks similar to a mini Windows Explorer, only in black and white.

Then you will need to find the CD drive where the files are located; usually CD drive D: or E: and select all of the files from the CD, in the same way you would any set of files or folder in any programme. You can do this by highlighting the files or clicking over the folders. All of this is done in the black and white box which opened before.

Hit ‘Open’ and another box will show the files you are about to Upload. There all the folders and files will be displayed. There will be more than one file or folder to add so keep going back to this window by hitting the ‘Add’ box on the top right hand side. Once you have all the files selected. On the bottom right hand corner of this box it says ‘Start Upload’

Hit ‘Start Upload’ and yet another box will open and the download will commence. It will show you a long line which will give you progress as to where the download is. After a few minutes it will also tell you how long it is going to take. You can Cancel or Pause this process at any time. (Cancelling means you will have to start all over again)

Once the upload has completed it will tell you ‘Upload completed’ and you can close all the Windows you need to.

You will need to email me to let me know the files are there for me to access. Once I have them I will download them and we will then email and arrange when we can talk through the CT.

If you need more help please do let me know when you are going to do this and I can assist you.

Hope that helps, I look forward to having a really good look at the CT scans.
